Hey all!
Well, Old Duffer Al is back at it again. Had a few problems with the old health, but I'll be damed if they're going to stop me!
Because I'm still not feeling ship-shape, I'm going to keep this entry to a minimum. I hope readers, all 10 of you, will understand.
Many of us believe, mistakenly, that Viagra or one of the other PDE5s will indeed be the answer to our various erectile dysfunction issues. However, that is not always the case.
There are those that do not respond to the PDE5s, but do respond to one of the herbal Viagra replacements, such as Libidus Maxidus.
If you find yourself not responding to either an herbal or PDE5, I've recently read something that you might find interesting.
This study, although still in its infantcy, involved males who had previously not responded to a PDE5. In the study, the men were given 80mg daily of the statin Lipitor or a placebo. The 2 groups also took 100mg of Viagra for sexual purposes.
After twelve weeks, the Viagra-plus-Lipitor group showed significant improvement in erectile function, while the placebo group showed no such improvement.
Although the number of men in the study was small, the results do show promise. The authors of the study, whom I can't recall, are calling for more extensive trials in the future.
Why the Lipitor acted as it did was not mentioned. I guess the brains are still looking into the "why."
Still, it's nice to know that there may be additional help on the way in the form of Lipitor. We'll just have to wait and see, right?
Okay, I'm drained, believe it or not. Time to rest.
Until later,
Old Duffer Al, one leg in, and the other shaky.
Comments, Pingbacks:
I'm hangin', I'm hangin', but I've seen better days!
I live to hear the sound of the river and swoosh of the fly rod on a brisk Fall day.
Anyhow, thanks for the encouragement; stay tuned, I'm not in the grave yet...
Old Man Al
Am getting worried you may have fallen off the perch
Pete
I'm still kicking, but not as hard as I used to. I did some time in the hospital, and I've been slowly recovering. I'm almost well enough to begin the blog again, so stay tuned, I'll be back!
Thanks for your concern, Big Pete. It's good to know that there is someone out there that reads the blog and asks of my health.
Read you soon,
Al
